FRYE HOTEL RENOVATION
Seattle, Washington
Built in 1902, the Frye Hotel underwent renovation
in 1999 to create 234 units of low-income, studio and one-bedroom apartments
with private bathrooms and kitchens. The two lower floors of the building
were renovated to accommodate offices, retail, and community service spaces.
Key to the renovation was the preservation and restoration of important
historical features and details, including the main lobby, central staircase,
and storefront windows. Upgrades to the mechanical, electrical, and structural
systems were included in the scope of work.
