San Juan County Court House (circa 1906):

Tonkin Hoyne's involvement included an initial feasibility study, historic research, programming, engineer's reports, schematic design and several designs for restoration, one completed in 1990.  Crucial to the design process, a strong attempt was made to preserve as much of the existing building as possible. Existing brickwork and interior woodwork were preserved. The original exterior appearance, east porch, and cornice were restored. New interior finishes, cabinetry, millwork, and furniture all used the original, existing interior finishes as a point of inspiration and reference.

The 2009 renovation work carefully recreates the character of the original courtroom on the second floor of the old building.
