Lakeview Apartments:
One of the pioneering
multi-family residential projects in the emerging Cascade
neighborhood of Seattle's South Lake Union area, the Lakeview
apartments, with its corner turret element stands out on its
prominent corner site in the neighborhood, diagonally across the
street from the recently renovated Cascade Park. The 3 and
5-story wood-frame portions of the building are a combination of
ground-related street-facing units and upper-floor apartments
arranged around a south-facing, hardscaped, urban courtyard. The
street-facing exterior is broken into distinct small-scaled
parts, accentuated by lower-level unit entries at the street, to
maintain the original pedestrian-scaled streetscape of the
neighborhood. Under-structure parking is located in the back off
the alley.
