Dorothy Day Apartments:

Located in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle, this project is a renovation of the former Douglas Hotel (1900), and the construction of a new 3-story wood frame structure to the north of the existing building. Known today as the Dorothy Day Apartments, the joined buildings contain 41 single room occupancy (SRO) units of housing for homeless women, a commercial kitchen, and common baths for the residents. At the street level is retail and office space. This project is a fine example of adaptive reuse, new construction, and historic preservation.
